Hannah (Oshawa, Ontario)

Meet Hannah—a hardworking and dedicated single mother of two adorable kids (Isabella 4yrs and Ibrahim 2.5 yrs) who currently live in a shelter and are homeschooled. At the moment, Hannah is struggling to pay for her kids’ learning/education per the curriculum that fits their family needs.
A little backstory: Hannah was in a painful relationship with an abusive partner, but kudos to her for her strength and bravery in fleeing to a shelter to protect herself and the kids. The couple are currently working through court processes for a divorce.
Hannah managed to move herself and the kids into an apartment. Currently she has no child support, and her family are all in a different country. She has made good friends some of whom are also single Moms with young kids. At times, she helps guide the other Moms with their homeschooling journeys and even helps to watch their kids occasionally.
Hannah’s mission is to help single Moms like herself and those going thru abusive relationships not only survive, but THRIVE and rebuild a happier, healthier life just as she has done. In fact, she is already doing so with those she comes across. She also hopes to finalize her divorce and start a small business.
No doubt, Hannah is set to add great value to the community around her but cannot afford her kids’ learning and educational programs. She just needs a little boost/support with her kids’ homeschool/educational needs. Join us in helping Hannah rebuild their lives and not only prosper, but also to rise as the leader that she is and add value to our society using her experiences and teaching skills.

Hannah & the Kids’ Current Needs:

  • Purchase homeschool curriculum ($1061/year for both kids as well as the other neighbouring kids who she often teaches)
  • Educational supplies such as ink for printer, crayons, paper, learning toys, etc
  • Gadgets such as laminator and laptop (even if a used one) as it is frustrating building learning material using a tab/phone. A laptop would also help her create learning materials that she can later sell.
  • Sports training during spring/summer (basketball & gymnastics: $120/month per child)
  • Tickets to places like museums, zoos, Aquarium for Spring/Summer education
  • Grocery/gift cards so as to enhance their nutritional needs. They currently use a Food Bank but sometimes the food received is expired and being vegetarians, with one of the kids having allergies, they are in need of fresh/specific dietary foods.
