Here is the leadership team driving our mission from when it launched back in 2021 towards a great year ahead and more importantly, a legacy we can all be proud to pass over to the next generation.
Daud is the visionary founder behind The Uplifting Youth Foundation. He is from Kenya, Africa, and of Persian background. It’s been quite the journey from idle sitting in the hoods to finding part-time work, then pushing to study in France. He then moved to Dubai for work and finally migrated & settled in Canada.
He pulled inspiration from Rocky Balboa movies and used all his tough experiences to push him to a more fulfilling life. Daud is intense in all of his passions including but not limited to family, friends, soccer, dancing, personal growth activities, and more. Daud has 3 children with his wife of 10 years, Nawaal, and together, working to build a legacy that you are now part of too!
Satyen is one of the most gentle, warm, and kind people you will ever come across. He loves meeting with people and connecting with them. His genuineness shines through whether he is just chitchatting or in deep discussion.
Satyen is the foundation’s board member and brings in lots of transferable skills which he has mastered through his many years of both local and international work. His role consists mainly of overlooking that the major targets of the organization are met on an annual basis, as well as ensure quality needs are met in the operations and systems of the foundation. He works hand in hand with his beautiful wife of 28 years to add much needed value in our beneficiaries lives.
Nawaal has always been passionate about helping others through their tough times—especially kids and youth. Born of Persian descent in Kenya, Nawaal now lives in Toronto, Canada with her young, growing family.
She brings a dynamic, multicultural set of experiences to our mission and works to turn all the cool ideas into action. Nawaal is passionate about human psychology and the social applications of modeling and growth. She is dogmatic about her command of systems and getting a message out to those who need to hear and see it. Her hobbies include but not limited to: spending time with family, swimming, and getting to know new cultures & places.
Rosemin is a beautiful lady who is passionate about life, it’s journey, and constantly processes ways to grow and add value—not only in her own life, but in others’ too. Her warmth and love has touched so many lives across the globe. Connecting with and being there for kids and youths has been a top strength. We are fortunate to have someone like her overlooking our recipients’ needs.
Rosemin’s empathy and ideas for resolving the foundation’s challenges is sure to make both big and lasting impact to the organization. She is also well versed in a broad range of topics which makes her excellent in being able to assist with needs across the board. She has been married to Satyen for 28 years now and we look forward to many more years with both of them.
Dave is the visionary founder behind his own foundation such as Smiles For Kids as well as Dave Darby & Company, LLC. which owns such brands as PIQ Mentoring & PIQ Kids Mentoring Programs. Dave and his family have been a huge part of helping countless families build happier, balanced lives—including the founders of this foundation!
Dave adds inspiration, support, and offers high level mentoring & consultation in our team. He is intense in all of his passions including but not limited to family, friends, mentoring, photography, woodworking, and coaching competitive girls softball. Dave has 5 children with his wife of 25 years, Julie, and has endless energy!

Our team of tweens and teens has been nothing short of AMAZING. They add incredible energy, support, ideas, and accountability to our foundation. Thank you Ismail, Gulam, and Armaan—we believe that one day you will be among those who carry this legacy forward.
